
Senator Godswill Akpabio was elected Senate President in the 10th Senate President election on Tuesday morning.
Akpabio was elected on the floor of the Senate after its inauguration.
He emerged the winner, having received the highest number of votes out of the 109 votes cast and beating his contenders, Senator Abdulaziz Yari and Senator Abdulaziz Khan, both members of the All Progressives Congress.
