2024 NATIONAL SCHOOLS DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIP
The United Organization for Education and Sports Development Nigeria is very proud to announce the 2024 National Debating Championship tagged All Schools’ Debating Championship for Primary and Secondary schools and Universities in Nigeria.
Now in it’s 11th edition, the competition has included the university students to be part of the exercise in order be part of nation building through their public speaking in creative and innovative ideologies.
STAGE 1
Primary School Contestants
Topic:
Doctors are more Important than Teachers in the Society.
Eligibility:
- Participants must be pupils attending school in Nigeria
- Must be either in Basic 3, 4, 5 or 6 as of the time of applying
- Both pupils of government, private and missionary schools are eligible to apply
- Applicants are expected to do a video of themselves debating on the topic either for or against in no more than 5 minutes, send their video as a document to +2348145655819 on WhatsApp or email to uoesdessaycompetition@gmail.com along with their full names, name of schools attending, address and State of school location, phone number of their teacher, headmaster or headmistress
- All entries must be received no later than February 28, 2024 at 11:59pm (Nigeria Time).
Secondary School Contestants
Topic:
The Problems of Nigerians lies with the Citizens and not the Government.
Eligibility:
- Participants must be senior secondary students attending school in Nigeria
- Must be either in S S S 1, 2 or 3 as of the time of applying
- Both students of government, private and missionary schools are eligible to apply
- Applicants are expected to do a video of themselves debating on the topic either for or against in no more than 5 minutes, send their video as a document to +2348145655819 on WhatsApp or email to uoesdessaycompetition@gmail.com along with their full names, name of schools attending, address and State of school location, phone number of their teacher, principal or proprietor
- All entries must be received no later than February 28, 2024 at 11:59pm (Nigeria Time).
University Contestants
Topic:
“Incessant Strikes in the Universities, Government should be blamed”.
Eligibility:
- Participants must be undergraduate students attending school in Nigeria
- Must be either in year 1, 2, 3, 4 or final as of the time of applying
- Both students of government, private and missionary universities are eligible to apply
- Applicants are expected to do a video of themselves debating on the topic either for or against in no more than 5 minutes, send their video as a document to +2348145655819 on WhatsApp or email to uoesdessaycompetition@gmail.com along with their full names, name of schools attending, address and State of school location and their phone numbers
- All entries must be received no later than February 28, 2024 at 11:59pm (Nigeria Time).
Stage 2 (for all categories)
- Selected professors from Nigeria notable institutions review the submitted entries, make a short of good number of entrants to receive gold, silver and bronze awards according to their decision.
- The six schools that their candidates would top the list of all other applicants battle for the final round of the contest.
